About Watermark PDF
A watermark marks a document's status or ownership: DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, a client's name, or your company logo. It discourages unauthorised sharing and makes it clear which version someone is looking at.
Use any text in a choice of fonts and colors, or a PNG/JPG logo. A live preview shows roughly how it will look before the watermark is drawn into every selected page.
Tips for best results
- 20–30% opacity keeps the content readable while the mark stays obvious.
- Tiled watermarks are much harder to crop out than a single centered one.
- Use a transparent PNG logo for the cleanest image watermark.
How your file stays on your device
Watermark PDF runs entirely inside your web browser. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory on your own device, a background Web Worker does the processing, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. There is no upload step, no server that receives your document and no copy kept anywhere — close the tab and it is gone. That makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical letters and anything else you would rather not send to a stranger's server. How in-browser processing works
FAQ
Watermark PDF: frequently asked questions
Can a watermark be removed?
Watermarks are drawn into the page content, so they can't be simply switched off. Combine with Flatten or Protect PDF for extra robustness.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Watermarking happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
