Guide

About Text to PDF

Text files are perfect for notes, logs and drafts, but awkward to share and print. Converting to PDF gives you consistent pages with proper margins and word wrapping that look the same everywhere.

The PDF contains real, selectable text in a standard font — Helvetica, Times or monospaced Courier for code and logs — so it stays searchable and small.

Tips for best results

  • Use Courier for code, CSV data and log files to keep columns aligned.
  • Landscape orientation fits long lines without wrapping.
  • Add page numbers afterwards with Add Page Numbers.

How your file stays on your device

Text to PDF runs entirely inside your web browser. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory on your own device, a background Web Worker does the processing, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. There is no upload step, no server that receives your document and no copy kept anywhere — close the tab and it is gone. That makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical letters and anything else you would rather not send to a stranger's server. How in-browser processing works

FAQ

Text to PDF: frequently asked questions

Which characters are supported?

Standard PDF fonts cover Western European (Latin-1) characters. Characters outside that set are replaced with '?' and you'll be told how many.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
