Guide

About Merge PDF

Merging is the quickest way to turn a pile of separate documents — invoices, scanned receipts, chapters or signed pages — into one tidy file you can send or archive. The merged PDF contains every page of every file, in exactly the order you choose.

Pages are copied without being re-rendered, so text stays selectable and searchable, vector graphics stay sharp and photos keep their original resolution. Bookmarks from the individual files are not carried over; add page numbers or a header afterwards if you need to navigate a long result.

Tips for best results

  • Use “Sort A–Z” when your files are numbered (01, 02, 03…) to put them in order instantly.
  • Need only some pages of a file? Extract them first, then merge the smaller files.
  • Very large merged files can be shrunk afterwards with Compress PDF.

How your file stays on your device

Merge PDF runs entirely inside your web browser. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory on your own device, a background Web Worker does the processing, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. There is no upload step, no server that receives your document and no copy kept anywhere — close the tab and it is gone. That makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical letters and anything else you would rather not send to a stranger's server. How in-browser processing works

FAQ

Merge PDF: frequently asked questions

Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can merge?

There is no fixed limit. Very large jobs are limited only by your device's memory.

Will the merged PDF keep text selectable?

Yes. Pages are copied as-is, so text, vector graphics and images keep their original quality.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Merging happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
