About Header & Footer
Headers and footers give documents a professional finish: a title on every page, a “Confidential” notice, the date of issue or “Page 3 of 12”. Fill any of the six slots — left, center and right at the top and bottom.
Tokens are replaced automatically on each page: {page}, {total}, {date} and {filename}. Choose the font, size, color and margin, and apply to all pages or a range.
Tips for best results
- Use a light grey color so headers don't distract from the content.
- Skip the first page to keep a clean cover.
- For a big diagonal stamp instead, use Watermark PDF.
How your file stays on your device
Header & Footer runs entirely inside your web browser. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory on your own device, a background Web Worker does the processing, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. There is no upload step, no server that receives your document and no copy kept anywhere — close the tab and it is gone. That makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical letters and anything else you would rather not send to a stranger's server. How in-browser processing works
FAQ
Header & Footer: frequently asked questions
What tokens can I use?
{page} = page number, {total} = number of pages, {date} = today's date, {filename} = the file name.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Adding headers and footers happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
