Guide

About Edit PDF

Fill in a form that isn't fillable, annotate a draft, add your logo to a letter or highlight key passages before sending — the editor lets you place text, images and shapes on any page and save a new PDF.

Items can be moved, resized, restyled and deleted, with undo for mistakes. When you save, everything is drawn permanently into the page, so it looks the same in every viewer.

Tips for best results

  • Double-click a text box to edit its contents again.
  • Press Delete to remove the selected item, Ctrl+Z to undo.
  • To hide existing text, cover it with a white filled rectangle and type over it.

How your file stays on your device

Edit PDF runs entirely inside your web browser. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory on your own device, a background Web Worker does the processing, and the result is handed straight back to you as a download. There is no upload step, no server that receives your document and no copy kept anywhere — close the tab and it is gone. That makes it safe for contracts, IDs, medical letters and anything else you would rather not send to a stranger's server. How in-browser processing works

FAQ

Edit PDF: frequently asked questions

Can I edit the existing text in my PDF?

This editor adds new content on top of pages. Changing the original text in place isn't supported — you can cover it with a white rectangle and type over it.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Editing happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
